Icon problem...

Okay, I finally managed to find an icon for one of my sockpuppets for [livejournal.com profile] desperatefans. Problem is, I have to alter it for size. Unfortunately, I have to use Paint to do this.

I have heard that other people use Paint to make icons--generally, only lame people like me, but still--so I ask.

HOW THE HELL CAN YOU SAVE IT AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A BITMAP?

Thank you for your time.

(I still use 98, in case that helps. ...or is it 95? IN ANYCASE. Fancy wonderful things that work on the downstairs computer don't work up here. HELP ME.)

Ack, Paint sucks for resizing.. a lot of the time it alters the picture and makes it all blury. Use "Save As" then go to the drop down menu on the bottom next to "save as type" or something to that effect. You should try to get your hands on a copy of Picture It. Providing you have Win 98, and not XP. I got it for free with a couple of my cameras and some other stuff I got, but when I upgraded to XP it doesn't work and they want me to buy a new version of it for like $90.. so I'm screwed.
